FE First Awards 2015 – Events management

September 8, 2015

The College Marketing Network is inviting entries for its prestigious FE First Marketing Awards 2015. The awards will be presented at the Network’s Gala Dinner on Monday 23rd November 2015 as part of our 28th Annual Conference.

Events Management

This award recognises the role of the marketing team in organising high profile and large events for their college. The highly visible nature of an event – whether a graduation, new build opening or employer conference – puts great pressures on the marketing team, and makes success or failure a very public spectacle. We feel that this award demonstrates the value of the work marketing teams do in this area.

The elements and target audience of the event may be many and varied from college to college, so a key part of the entry for this award will be the definition of the purpose and aims of the event. Judges will also be looking for evidence of the planning, publicity, co-ordination and evaluation against the aims as well as detail of the event itself. If an external company is employed as an events partner, the respective roles of the marketing team and the company should be clearly defined. If this is the case, judges will be looking for your input as the marketing professionals in the event organisation and how far the direction was yours as opposed to that of any external company involved. We understand that colleges don’t always have the capacity to do the all the work themselves, but want to see that most of the creative thinking and direction lay with you, the marketing team.
