April 13, 2017

Our next networking meeting of 2017 will be at Lewisham Southwark College (Southwark Campus) on Wednesday 10 May. Our programme includes:

10.30 Introductions and welcome – College Marketing Network

Mark Phillips, Digital Team Leader & Christina Savvides, Emarketing Analyst, Barnet & Southgate College
Social media – it’s not just marketing
Barnet and Southgate College uses many social media platforms to market their courses and support the College’s brand and ethos. Mark and Christina will explain how they use different platforms for different audiences and for varying aims – including a briefing on their latest community cohesion project.

Hazel Saegert, Digital Marketing Officer, Chichester College
Building a new website
Building an entirely new cross-college website is one of the biggest projects a marketing team can undertake. In this session we’ll run through the challenges and successes that handling a website build can entail: from securing budget, deciding who to involve and managing project research, to choosing an external agency, developing the site itself, and dealing with launch day and beyond.

12.00 Round-table discussion time for your topics

12.30 Lunch

Sonia Furley, Head of Marketing & Communications, Lewisham Southwark College
Managing your brand during difficult times
Many colleges are experiencing downgrading with Ofsted and / or mergers – which can leave your brand and reputation in jeopardy. Lewisham Southwark College received two Grade 4’s following its merger, but has now turned the corner to a brighter future. This session explores the work the college and the marketing team completed to reposition itself with staff, students and the community during difficult times.

The day will end by 2.00pm. Timings are given for guidance and may be subject to change.

Venue: Lewisham Southwark College – Southwark Campus, 25 The Cut, SE1 8LF. Opposite Southwark tube station (Jubilee line), or 3 minutes’ walk from Waterloo and Waterloo East train stations.

The meeting will be held in Room S120. You will be asked to wear a visitor lanyard at all times.

Thanks to Lewisham Southwark College for their hospitality.

£30 pp CMN member colleges, £80 pp non CMN member colleges – book via Eventbrite here or contact office@m-network.org
